Suppose you view a mommy with a laughing small 2-year-old. In English, we might exclaim, "how cute!"

I"ve had trouble speak this in rewildtv.com. Words "cute" way something prefer "beautiful", however it has a sense of smallness and also playfulness and also affection. (It can be supplied for an adult; i might contact my wife "cute" if she"s doing something silly, however in major moments I would certainly say something much more like "beautiful".)

I"ve asked a pair of rewildtv.com speakers for a rewildtv.com equivalent for "cute", and also I"ve looked online, but I"m not certain if any of these fit:

lindo or guapo - These could both explain an attractive adult, right? precioso - This appears close; we can say "precious" in English around a small child. ¡qué mono rico es! - This is just confusing. "What a delicious monkey"?

How would you say that a son is "cute" in rewildtv.com?

All the indigenous you provide might to the right at various levels that "beautiful". Personally, ns would analyze "cute" together "mono" or "rico" (but never ever as "mono rico").

You can inspect the first an interpretation of mono and the saturday of rico. Lock both mean, specially because that children, beautiful and also funny.

You are watching: How to say your so cute in spanish

To make things clearer, I"m native Spain, and I don"t recognize what"s provided in other countries.

I have always used "precioso/a" to describe cute kids. I"m in Texas, and also so largely speak with human being from Mexico. Ns think this indigenous is pretty safe, because it doesn"t have actually other meanings, choose monkey. I"ve always been scared to usage that details expression as a non-native speaker.

I"ve heard or provided the following:

-¡Que mono!

-¡Que monada!

-¡Que rico!

-¡Que ricura!

-¡Que lindo!

-¡Que simpático!

About guapo/lindo once talking around and adult, they have various meanings. Guapo way handsome, but here in spain, if you say: bueno, es linda, climate she is definetely not handsome.

¡qué mono rico es!. That"s incorrect.

First you should be mindful that a many words in rewildtv.com have different definitions from country to country, even on different regions top top the very same country. So if you want to be certain you should say

¡Qué lindo!

This would certainly be a neutral and correct method to express just how cute!, if you take place to recognize the local expression, well, that would certainly be the best, but keep in mind that in rewildtv.com the same expression in two various places can go from friendly to highly offensive.

Here room two examples:

In Cuba, you can say ¡Qué chulo! o ¡Qué chulo está ese niño!; andin Spain ¡Qué mono! is perfectly fine. But ¡Qué mono! in Cuba for sure is no the best, if the paper definition is ok you will be fine however this means something various in Cuba (still no offensive though). By the contrary, in Spain ¡Qué chulo! won"t be the best choice either.

In Chile I"ve heard, as an nearly drop-in replacement for cute:

monono,-a. adj. De apariencia agradable. espon. //Tiene una página de lo más monona, con los colores bien combinados//. (Romero y Torres, A patadas, p. 86).

--from Diccionario de uso del español de Chile (DUECh), MN Editorial Ltda., 2010.

This word has actually the advantage that that does not average "monkey" or anything else in particular. It is supplied for children, for houses, for virtually anything that might be cute.

Here room two an ext examples (from diccionariolibre.com, not as reliable as the Academia Chilena de La Lengua, to it is in sure; however perhaps more human, i beg your pardon is, after all, the proper context because that cute):

Usa unas blusas bien mononas.

Es un hotelito bien monono.

In our town, indeed, I understand two men, from various families, that were nicknamed "Monono" in your tender youth, and are still dubbed by this handle.

En Colombia we might use the word: CURIOSO. Lindo o bello would certainly be extremely beautiful, bonito would certainly a softer beauty...
